The total number of Internet users in India is more than 100 million, which ofcourse is still less when compared to the internet penetration in US and UK. However, the rate at which Indians are adapting to the Internet is really amazing.

In 1999, the total number of Internet users in India was close to 5 million. It was at that time that Mr K Vaitheeswaran founded the first Indian e-Commerce site Fabmart.com (now known as IndiaMart). Back then the users got connected with the tortoise speed dial-up connections of that time. Very few among this group of internet users owned credit cards and online payment was more than a nightmare that time!

Today with advanced Technology and 100 million people over the internet, e-Commerce has created its own space. The total e-Commerce industry is worth around $10 billion, out of which the travel industry alone contributes $8.4 billion. Flipkart, eBay India, Fashion and You are some of the famous names among youngsters in the world of e-Commerce today. Founded in 2007, Flipkart, one of India’s largest online store, has so far raised $31m by revenue. Flipkart employs more than 5,000 people. With average daily sales of $500,000, the company aims to hit $1 billion by 2014-15. On the other hand IndiaMart, a much older player, is unfortunately not able to maintain its topnotch position and is gradually loosing its charm and identity.

With e-Commerce flourishing on one side, Social Media in India has also rooted itself very well. Sites like Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, etc are now the part of a mango man’s daily routine. Lets have a look on how these various e-Commerce sites taking an edge of the Social Media to reach the large audience.

With over 45 million users, India has the second largest number of users on Facebook in the world. In the above image, you can see eBay India has the most number of Facebook Likes and People Talking about it. Fashion and You comes on the second position, Flipkart on the third and so on. Having a huge number of likes on your Facebook Page and very less people actually talking about it, does not depicts a great impression on a new visitor. If you have noticed Junglee.com (part of Amazon) has the most optimistic ratio of People Talking and Total Likes, and the company just entered Indian market in 2012. Though the number of total likes is small but for a company like Amazon, that can be a cake walk. I think its the right time for companies like Flipkart, Fashion and You and others to start building more conversations and engagement on Facebook if they want to see themselves somewhere in the top 5.

Twitter never excited most of the Indians, but those who love it, love it badly (I am one of them). Twitter has around 18 million users and most of them are situated in metro cities of India.

In the above image with Twitter Stats for all the major e-Commerce sites in India, it is very clear that Flipkart is far ahead to all others in the market. And if you look at the way they are doing conversation on Twitter, you will be glad to know every customer there has been answered. Almost 75% of the tweets are replies to the other users (customers or prospects), apart from that they also tweet about contest, products, launches etc. Flipkart is actually using Twitter as one of their customer support platform and that is actually in favour to its customers.

There is no doubt in Indian e-Commerce market growth, even the International Monetary Fund reckons it will reach $2,300 by 2016. My only concern is these huge numbers of Likes and Followers are not gonna say much about a company’s real presence until you see the real engagement happening there.

The much awaited Samsung Galaxy S3 finally launched today on 03 May 2012. Samsung Galaxy S3 will be available in market on 29th May 2012. With the new Galaxy S3 you can experience faster web browsing, seamless multi-tasking, supreme graphics qualilty and an instantly responsive UI on a larger screen.

Among some of its new splendid features is “Smart Stay” which means you don’t lock and unlock you screen from now. “Smart Stay” uses the front-facing camera to detect if you’re looking at it, so it knows whether to keep the screen awake. So as long as you’re looking at the S3’s screen, it won’t dim or lock itself. The next amazing feature is “S-Beam”, which transfers files quickly between devices by touching them together, or sharing the phone’s screen content with other devices. Samsung Galaxy S3 is not a market leader when it comes to camera but the new features make it stand out from that line. A 8-megapixel with LED flash, zero shutter lag, Burst shot, Best photo, Face zoom & Group tagging features.

One more feature that I loved in Samsung Galaxy S3 is “S-Voice”, that lets users control their phone using normal, natural language. So it’s like Siri, only thing it does more is you can say volume up, for instance, and the phone will filter out the noise of the song it’s playing. Despite a generous screen, the size of Galaxy S3 is only 22% larger than the Galaxy S2 due to a reduced bezel. The Galaxy S3 also features wireless charging and Wi-Fi Channel Bonding, which doubles the Wi-Fi bandwidth. Apart from all that I have mentioned above, one more feature that I loved is “Pop up Play” which allows users send text messages and emails while they are watching a video or movie. Isn’t that amazing, its actually a step ahead to multitasking on phones where you really don’t have to pause your video and get annoyed to chat with your friends. Now you can do both the things simultaneously.

Samsung says

Galaxy S3 is effortlessly smart and intuitively simple, and is a phone that sees you, listens to you and understands what you want.

Other Outstanding Features

Texting someone, but decided to call them instead? Simply raise the Galaxy S3 to your ear & the ‘Direct Call’ feature activates.

The new ‘Smart Alert’ feature ensures you don’t miss notifications, while ‘Social Tag’ keeps you up-to-date with friends & family.

There’s a range of stylish accessories to enhance your Galaxy S3 experience: Flip Cover, AllShare Cast Dongle & S Pebble.

Galaxy S3 packs a total of 6 sensors, so it really is paying attention

Finally after so much of wait, Samsung S2 (S II) users got another chance to dance with ICS update for their phone. Some of my friends from UK just conveyed us this great news that today morning they got the new update for Samsung S2.

To confirm the update, I also checked up with one of my friend in Netherlands and she said “I got the update on 13th April midnight, and the new version is so amazing.” This new update brings your phone to Android 4.0.3 version (ICS) and its rolling out gradually, so don’t worry if it has not yet came to your phone.

The ICS update is expected to roll out worldwide by 17th April.

How about you getting 1Million followers on Twitter in a day? Okay, How about 21Million? Don’t you think that is gonna make you more famous than Lady Gaga on Twitter with more than 21Million followers. And the best part is you don’t have to pay a single penny from your pocket, all you have to do is add a Twitter app to your account.

Yes!! Play-Fame.com allows you to get that done. Click “Connect to Play” and authenticate your account with the app. You are then entered into a raffle with everyone else who connects with the app. Once in a day, a winner is chosen at random at 12 noon EST. That winner is automatically followed by everyone for that day. The next day, a new winner is selected and the previous winner is automatically unfollowed.

Play-Fame.com is targeting to make one daily winner more famous than Lady Gaga! As of now the app has been used by nearly 1-2% of 21M followers.

What’s the Catch? Is that really possible?

The answer to this question is ‘Yes‘. Twitter API allows a app to add and remove followers from a user’s account. So what Play-Fame.com has done is everyone who allows that app will be declared once the winner for a day. On that day all the users who have joined the app will automatically gonna follow the winner.

Then at the end of the day,all those people will unfollow the winner again. Your account will remain the same after that. You won’t lose any followers, but you might gain some if they like what your profile depicts.

So the more people sign-up to this app, the more is your chances to be more famous than Lady Gaga. Interesting isn’t it?

With the release of ‘The New iPad‘ the prices of iPad 2 has slashed down with almost $100. And on the same side the demand for iPad 2 has increased in India as reported by some online stores.

The old iPad 2 (16GB-WiFi) is now available for Rs. 24,000 (down by Rs 6,000) and iPad 2 (16GB-WiFI+3G) for Rs. 32,400 (down by Rs 6,000). You can simply buy iPad 2 online from sites like ebay and others. But at the same time see what all you gonna miss in iPad 2 -

Retina Display : The centerpiece of Apple’s announcement today is, of course, the new iPad, and the biggest news about it is its new super-sharp screen. Current iPads have a display resolution of 1024×768. The resolution of the new iPad is 2048×1536—double the resolution, bringing the new iPad in line with the iPhone 4’s retina display.

New Camera : The new iPad has a slightly better camera than the iPhone 4. It has a five-megapixel sensor and captures 1080p video.

4G LTE : The new iPad has a 4G LTE connectivity on AT&T or Verizon networks—but not both on the same device. It’s Apple’s first LTE-capable device.

A5X Chip : The new iPad is faster—it has to be in order to manage the new screen. According to Apple, it’s twice as fast as the old Tegra 3 chip and has four times the graphics performance.

Siri : The new tablet sort of has Siri, albeit only in the form of voice dictation, not the full voice assistant.

Apple TV : The other big announcement today was an update to Apple TV. It will now support 1080p, and all iTunes movies are jumping to 1080p too. Apple’s Eddie Cue says that TV shows will pop up in 1080p on iTunes the day after they’re released. The new Apple TV looks different, too. The new user interface looks like iOS, with thumbnail buttons for movies, shows, podcasts, and other programs appearing on the screen.

If the above features doesn’t make much sense to you, there is no hard reason you should buy The New iPad rather than an iPad 2. Think again!! Make a wise decision :)

As announced by Apple during its press conference today, Apple iOS 5.1 is now available to download for iPad 2, iPad, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and second and third-generation iPod touch. Some of the most notable additions are Japanese language support for Siri, camera enhancements, and the ability to delete photos from users’ Photo Streams.

Here is the list of all additions to iOS 5.1

Don’t rub your eyes after reading the title of this story. Yes you read that very right, Nokia just reveiled in MWC 2012, Barcelona, Spain that Nokia 808 PureView is a smartphone with 41 MP Camera. PureView Technology which will blows away any prior expectations about the quality of camera phone photography. But this combination isn’t about shooting pictures the size of billboards! Instead, it’s about creating amazing pictures at normal, manageable sizes. There’s a combination of benefits.

The technology means that taking typically sized shots (say, 5 megapixels) the camera can use oversampling to combine up to seven pixels into one “pure” pixel, eliminating the visual noise found on other mobile phone cameras. On top of that, you can zoom in up to 3X without losing any of the details in your shot – and there’s no artificially created pixels in your picture, either.

Otherwise, you can use ‘Creative Shooting Mode’ to capture images at high resolution – 38 megapixels; then reframe, crop and zoom to find the best “picture within the picture” after the image has been shot and before saving it at convenient sizes for sharing and storage.
The oversampling technology also allows for significantly improved low light performance than previous camera phones, Compared to a typical optical zoom camera used at full zoom, the Nokia 808 PureView captures over 5x more light. Under normal lighting conditions, performance is also enhanced, as this combination allows for faster shutter speeds, reducing the effects of camera shake.

The excellent camera performance also extends to video. The camera allows for 1080p recording at 30fps, with 4X lossless zoom thanks to the big sensor and powerful image processing which handles over 1 billion pixels per second. At lower resolutions, the capabilities of the zoom increase, with 6X at 720p and up to 12X lossless zoom in nHD (640 x 360) recordings. Of course great video is nothing without great audio.

Detailed specification about the Nokia 808 PureView Camera

Apart from such a gigantic camera, it’s also a great smartphone, of course! Inside, it’s got the latest Nokia Belle operating system with Feature Pack 1 enhancements. These enhancements allow improved performance, personalisation and entertainment options, with a new browser, the latest Nokia Maps and an improved notifications bar. One other great new feature is that the phone can deliver content recorded in surround sound to any stereo headphones, using technology from Dolby.

So what do you think? Is this new phone gonna welcome Nokia back to Smartphone War?

I do remember one of my friend asking me for a solution that allows him to switch between his phone and PC or Laptop side by side and he should be able to work with complete synchronization including browser history, bookmarks and so on. This was a very valid question, and kept me thinking for a while and then I gave him some workarounds- some apps but I was not very convinced with the answer and today when I heard this news from Ubuntu, I was like – Let me just call him and share this with him too. So fellas, the good news here is Ubuntu has came up with a channel to enhance the growing popularity of Android and adding PC features to it. Ubuntu developers have merged the users’ experience with both platforms and joined together the Ubuntu architecture with Android.

The result,as they call it “Ubuntu for Android” provides two operating systems working together, that allows smartphone users to fully enjoy the functionality of mobile OS and get extra PC features that many users used to miss. Ubuntu for Android provides a full desktop experience, including office software, web browsing, email and media applications, on Android phones docked to a screen and keyboard. Thanks to tight integration with the Android service layer, the transition between the two environments is seamless, making it easy to access the phone’s services from the desktop when docked.

So how this benefits you?

Complete desktop solution for full productivity on docked Android phones

Easy to integrate with existing Android phones in development

Certified apps for business users from Adobe, Citrix, VMWare and more

Drives sales of multi-core phones with faster CPUs, more cores, more RAM and high-end graphics

Drive adoption of 4G handsets since office apps shine with low latency and higher bandwidth

Canonical leads in ARM Linux support, co-creator of Linaro with ARM

Ubuntu and Android share the same kernel, running at the same time, accessing data and applications

The world’s favourite free desktop fully integrated with the world’s favourite open phone

Default Applications that you will get

Chromium web browser

Google Calendar

Google Docs

Thunderbird email client

VLC Player

Ubuntu Music Player

Ubuntu Photo Gallery

Android dialler and few more

There are some limitations too, and here are they-

Dual-core 1GHz CPU

Video acceleration: shared kernel driver with associated X driver; Open GL, ES/EGL

Storage: 2GB for OS disk image

HDMI: video out with secondary frame buffer device

USB host mode

512 MB RAM

Why add anything to Android?

Android is a mobile solution, designed for a touch interface on a handheld device. On the desktop, where users expect a pointer-driven experience, a PC operating system is essential. Several vendors have tried to bring Android-based desktops or laptops to market, with no success; Android was designed for touch only, and has its hands full winning the tablet wars.

A complete desktop solution needs a full range of desktop applications. While a mobile OS carries no deep desktop software catalogue, Ubuntu offers thousands of applications, all designed for the desktop and most, like Ubuntu, free. And Ubuntu is certified by governments, industry and enterprises, widely deployed on the desktop, and supported by leading management solutions.

Ubuntu for Android is a complete desktop with a full range of desktop applications including office, web browsing, email, media and messaging. Personal information like contacts, calendars, photo galleries and music can be accessed from both the phone and the desktop interface. SMS texts arrive on your desktop if you are docked when they show up, and calls are handled like VoIP if you want to stay working while you chat. Ubuntu for Android brings the desktop world together with the phone world, seamlessly.

This whole initiative is backed by Canonical, which is the commercial entity behind Ubuntu.

The next Google Android OS is reportedly to be Android 5.0 Jelly Bean. Before Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has managed to reach more than 1% of Android devices, before Gingerbread [...]

The next Google Android OS is reportedly to be Android 5.0 Jelly Bean. Before Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich has managed to reach more than 1% of Android devices, before Gingerbread (Android versions 2.3.3 - 2.3.7) being reached upto 60% of Android devices, Google is gearing up for the next Android version 5.0.

Recently launched Android 4.0 has not performed upto the expectations of Google reason being the required a set of minimum hardware configuration, that restricted many smartphones to catch up with Android 4.0. At the same time Google Chromebook also performed badly. Sources say with the new Android version, Google will be delivering more features for Tablets and Notebooks. While some other sources say new Android 5.0 is merely to provide a competition to Microsoft’s new Windows 8 operating system, which will be launched in the Q3 2012.

Android 5.0 Jelly Bean is expected to be released by Q2 2012. It can be also called as a successor of Android 3 Honeycomb. One of the key features of the Jelly Bean might be its ability to run dual boot Chrome OS. Expected that Google will speed up the development of Android 5.0, we might see Google debuting with it in May or June this year.

Another feature that came out is Dual-Boot. The dual-booting Android 5.0 Jelly Bean devices will be able to hot-swap between the two platforms, the sources indicate, rather than demanding a reboot each time. That would give users the opportunity to use Android for its web-centric functionality and speed, while switching to other platform would offer the various legacy and business apps many users still demand.

Not to forget, with every new update I see Google hurting a lot of designers, developers and users. And this time the change is very frequent. All we have to see is how world reacts over this new change with new features coming up. Will Android 5.0 features gonna suppress the frustration of so many version changes? or Google attempting to one more failure? Lets see!!

Apple is gearing up to release iPad 3 very soon, we have been hearing that it will be released on 24th February or may be during the press event in first week of March. Fingerprint-proof, HD Retina display and faster GPU/CPU will some of the major changes over iPad 2. The design of iPad 3 is not expected to change much. Today, AllthingsD also reported that-

Sources say the company has chosen the first week in March to debut the successor to the iPad 2, and will do so at one of its trademark special events. The event will be held in San Francisco, presumably at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Apple’s preferred location for big announcements like these. No word yet on a street date for the iPad 3 (assuming that’s what it’s called), though my guess is retail availability will follow roughly the same schedule as that of the iPad 2: Available for purchase a week or so after the event.

In addition to what AllThingsD reported, there are sources that predicts iPad 3 will be released on 7th March. It is also said that iPad 3 will have LTE 4G enabled micro-SIM card. Micro-SIM card will give more space to battery and in-turn increasing the battery life. Other specs are-

Processor : A6 Processor (with quad core features)

Display : 9.7″ screen with 3D capabilities

Resolution : 2048 x 1536

Camera : 8Mp (1080p HD Video with LED Flash)

Storage : 32GB, 64GB, 128GB

Microphone : Enhancement in microphone for advance apps like SIRI

Gorilla Glass : iPad 3 will have Gorilla Glass that makes the overall weight 15-20% less

Other Features

Fingerprint-proof Technology

Retina Display

HDMI Port

Advancement in the Glass (Gorilla Glass), Retina Display, Fingerprint-proof technology are some of the features that will make it one of the best gadget of 2012. Retina Display makes what you read, see, watch, and play hundreds of pixels better. Fingerprint-proof Technology that makes iPad 3 screen more resistant to oil, smudges and fingerprints, that will definitely gonna give an edge to Apple over other rivals.

Whether iPad 3 get released in February or March, what I will miss Steve Jobs the most during this release. Yes! this time it will be Tim Cooks revealing new Apple iPad. Lets wait and watch.

Most people are comfortable with the idea of installing anti-virus software and security programs on their home PC in order to ward off hackers and malicious code. But with the rise of smart-phone technology people have become complacent about the safety of the personal information that they carry around on the multi-tasking device in their pockets. You have to think of a smart phone as a small computer which, as with all such devices, is vulnerable to hackers unless you take steps to protect it.

Passwords

The first step you should take is to add a password to your smart phone that has to be entered when it is powered up and before the screen is unlocked. All major platforms, including Android and Windows Phone, will let you add a password in this way, usually as a series of four numbers. This PIN gives you easy access to your mobile phone but protects your details from casual browsers should it be lost or stolen.

App Understanding

The second thing to consider is that smart phones, just like computers, will only get viruses if you download files without thinking about the consequences. With Android in particular, hackers can create a backdoor to your data through malicious applications that you might have downloaded from the entirely legitimate Android Market. Google does monitor its apps and selects only those which it deems to be harmless, but this has not prevented a slew of dangerous programs slipping through the net and playing havoc with some users’ phones.

Security Software

The best way to protect against infection in this manner is to be cautious. Do a little research, read user reviews and check the web to see whether or not an app is safe to use or harbouring some unwanted digital parasite. There is, however, another way to protect your phone, which is through dedicated anti-virus applications. Major software companies who work on suites for Windows PCs have begun creating similar programs designed to secure your smart phone and eradicate any unwelcome visitors. You may have to pay for these services, but the investment could be well worth it.

Wi-Fi Usage

Some hackers will be able to pull information from your phone without even getting software on to it. This can happen if you are using an unsecured wi-fi hotspot in a public place such as a cafe or library. Cyber-criminals can monitor the airwaves and grab data without your knowledge. The best advice is to only use public wi-fi networks for basic tasks that do not involve the transfer of personal information. Ideally, for improved security you should rely on your smart phone’s own 3G connection to go online when you are out and about. Your password-protected, encrypted wi-fi at home is good alternative if you are worried about your smart phone’s monthly data allowance.

Update Your Mobile OS

You would not leave your Windows PC without the latest updates for too long for fear of a virus exploiting a recently patched loophole. The same should apply to your smart phone. Some mobile platforms are updated more regularly than others, but you should be able to check directly on your handset or by plugging your phone into your PC via USB.

Common sense can be your most powerful tool when it comes to smart-phone security. These tips have hopefully revealed a bit more about the murky techniques of mobile hackers and how best to avoid being stung by them.

Remember last time we figured out Google Search replacing the ‘+’ operator, here is a new finding. Today I was just searching for something as “late in 2011″ and instead of initial ‘l’ I accidentally typed semicolon (;) and you know these days the moment you type the first character, Google starts churning it’s wheels. And this time it landed up good for me.

I tried other special characters also (almost every) and I really got amazed to see how Google Search has been improving. Characters that I have personally tested-

~ (tilde)

! (exclamation mark)

@ (at the rate sign)

# (hash sign)

$ (dollar sign)

% (percent sign)

^ (caret sign)

& (ampersand sign)

( ) { } [ ] (parentheses)

- (minus sign)

_ (underscore)

= (equals sign)

+ (plus sign)

All the above special characters you will find just below the function keys. One important thing here to not is * (asterisk) is still not included in this addition. If words like ‘databases, queries, mysql, oracle’ sounds familiar to you, you know why asterisk cannot be a part of search. Later on I found more symbols that are working on Google Search, here they are-

. (full stop)

, (comma)

: (colon)

; (semicolon)

| (vertical bar)

“ (quotation marks)

< (less-than sign)

> (greater-than sign)

‘ (apostrophe)

\ (backslash)

/ (slash)

? (question mark not working same as *)

I like this addition very much, love to see Google evolving so dynamically. If you find something strange or new with these symbols, do let us know.

One of the File-sharing pioneer ‘MegaUpload.com’ is dead, shut down at the hands of the US federal government. Many reporters are indicating that the reason behind this shutdown is the recent buzz for SOPA and PIPA, but as of now this activity is not directly related to those Acts. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has arrested four people, and charged three others, in the anti-piracy sting. MegaUpload has been shut down by the US federal government.

Update: Megaupload is back again!! http://109.236.83.66

The above ip address looks fake to me, I have taken a screenshot in the morning and it looked like this and now if you check its something else. I am really not very sure about this being the official new site.

US federal government seized their domain names, undertaking $50 million in assets, and at the same time New Zealand police arrested four of the site’s key employees, including Megaupload’s founder Kim Dotcom. In a 72-page mega piracy indictment unsealed in a Virginia federal court, prosecutors charged that the site has earned more than $175 million since 2005, most of it is based on copyright infringement.

The indictment goes after six individuals, who between them owned 14 Mercedes-Benz automobiles with name plates such as POLICE, MAFIA, STONED, CEO, HACKER, GOOD, EVIL, and GUILTY. The group also had a 2010 Maserati, a 2008 Rolls-Royce, and a 1989 Lamborghini. They had not one but three Samsung 83″ TVs, and two Sharp 108″ TVs. Motor bikes, jet skis, artwork, and even 60 Dell servers could all be forfeit to the government if it can prove its case against the members of the “Mega Conspiracy.”

Remember Megaupload recently released a viral video on Youtube with $3 million budget, where they represented various stats and also users saying how much they love Megaupload?

The indictment also charges Megaupload “on or about November 10, 2011, a member of the Mega Conspiracy made a transfer of $185,000 to further an advertising campaign for Megaupload.com involved a musical recording and a video.” Do you really think that is a valid reason to seize?

I don’t remember the exact time, but back in my mind I remember Viacom made many of the same charges against YouTube, but never heard that US federal government knocked the Eric Schmidt’s or Chad Hurley’s door anytime. Let me know if you remember something on those lines..

In addition to these charges on Megaupload, the government contends that everything about the site has been doctored to make it look more legitimate than it is. The “Top 100” download list does not “actually portray the most popular downloads,” say prosecutors, and they claim that Megaupload purposely offers no site-wide search engine as a way of concealing what people are storing and sharing through the site.

Facebook recently introduced music service in collaboration with most of the major online music players, as well as many streaming radio services, and even recent upstarts like Spotify, tune.in, iheartradio, earbits, rdio, Songza, Jelli, deezer, rhapsody etc. But these services were restricted to two things-

Let your friends know what you’re listening.

Listen to what they are listening to or played earlier.

And today they have taken a step further which is “Listen to Music with your Friends“, that simply means you and your friend both listening to the same song and the best part it you can also discuss your favorite moments attached with that song. See what Facebook says for this new feature-

Today, with music services on Facebook, there’s a new way to listen with friends. This feature lets you listen along with any of your friends who are currently listening to music. You can also listen together in a group while one of your friends plays DJ.

You can listen to the same song, at the exact same time—so when your favorite vocal part comes in you can experience it together, just like when you’re jamming out at a performance or dance club.

So, How It Works??

Look for the music note in the chat sidebar to see which of your friends are listening to music. To listen with a friend, hover over their name, and click the Listen With button. The music will play through the service your friend is using.

When a new song plays, you’ll come along for the ride, discovering new music while your friend DJs for you.

You’ll also have the option to chat about what you’re listening to. As other people start listening along, they’ll join the party in a group chat.

You can also control who you’re listening along with through your settings. Isn’t that amazing? This feature will start rolling out over the next few weeks. So just wait and look forward to your turn.

Why there is a need to Root Android phone? This is the question asked by one of my friend yesterday. Thanks to him for asking this and motivating me to write an article on Rooting Android phones easily with no hurdles. So before moving to How to root an Android phone, lets have a look at what all benefits you will get once your phone is rooted.

Android is considered as most open mobile platform, but some users (including me) still need more control over the phone; and that is where Rooting helps you. Rooting allows users for some cool features that probably ought to be enabled in Android by default, such as on-the-fly screen capture, tethering capabilities (even on phones whose carriers don’t allow it), and advanced firewall apps.

But before you start of with rooting your device let me warn you for something

Rooting your device will void its warranty. In future something happens to your phone don’t even look at your warranty card. Also notice that rooting your device incorrectly may cause unexpected consequences.

How to Root your device

What you need?

A Computer

A USB Cable

A software [as mentioned below]

and most importantly [don't do it when you are in hurry]

If you consider yourself a tech savvy person download one of the software mentioned below-

Z4Root

Universal AndRoot

SuperOneClick

If you think don’t want to take much of the risk, try this simple option-

Unrevoked (for HTC Users)
This tool provides simple rooting for HTC Android phones: the Incredible, Desire, Wildfire, Aria, Hero, and Evo 4G.

Samsung has yet not made an official announcement about launching Samsung Galaxy S3, but there are several instances that indicates the launch of S3. The recent Samsung processor developments that includes announcing several new Exynos dual-core processor during the end of 2011 indicates that Galaxy S3 will be also powered with the same. February’s Mobile World Congress event is on its way and all big players like Samsung, HTC, Nokia etc are ready to release their latest phones in the market. As a trend it is expected that the phone will be first launched in UK, US and then to the rest of the world.

3D Smartphone

Some Korean reporters also suggest that it will be called Samsung Galaxy S3D instead of Galaxy S3 as it will be a 3D smartphone. You will be able to watch 3D movies and can enjoy 3D games on Galaxy S3 very conveniently. It is also expected that Samsung will include 3D glasses in accessories with the phone.

Processor

Samsung has officially revealed its work on the dual-core Exynos 4212, a dual-core ARM9 chipset that’s claimed to be 30% more efficient and substantially faster than the processor of Galaxy S2. Exynos 4212 is powered with 1.8 GHz CPU speed.

Memory

The industry benchmark these days is 1GB RAM, so Samsung S3 being the top on the ladder is providing double of it i.e. 2GB RAM. Internal storage of the phone is expected to be 16GB. 16GB, I am really not sure how many of you will really need a external storage after this.

Display

Samsung Galaxy S3 will be featured with 4.6″ Super AMOLED Plus 3D screen. Galaxy S2 has 4.3″ screen, HTC Sensation XL being 4.7″, Galaxy Nexus being 4.65″ and Galaxy Note having 5.3″. Galaxy S3 will not be having a screen equivalent to Galaxy Note, otherwise you will need a stylus for this too so 4.6″ is very optimum.

Features of Samsung S3 in a nutshell

4.6″ 1280×720 Super AMOLED Plus 3D Screen

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

2GB RAM (four times the RAM in iPhone 4S)

12MP W750 BSI CMOS Camera with 1080p Recording with awfully-bright dual-LED flash

2 megapixel front-facing camera

16 or 32 Gb of internal memory

USB 3.0 capability

4G LTE right off the bat

1.8GHz Quadcore Samsung Exynos CPU

9mm thick body

Touchwhiz 5.0 overlay

The Samsung Galaxy S III is expected to show itself at the Mobile World Conference, Barcelona in February 2012. Price of the phone is still not revealed.
