Dates like 11-11-11, 10-10-10 or 09-09-09 simply may not have much significance if you see them just as same numbers repeated thrice in a sequence. Dates such as 11-11-11 are popular for weddings, product or service launches, and other planned events as the date is easy to remember. I am not sure whether 11-11-2011 is gonna do wonders for the world or it is just another day, but here are some great facts related to this date and number 11 that I came across and wanted to share with you.

11-11-11 came after 100 years
The sequence of 11 was the same before 100 years (11-11-1911) which is also known as “The Great Blue Norther of 11-11-11“, was a cold snap that affected the central United States on Saturday, November 11, 1911. Many cities broke record highs early that afternoon. By nightfall, cities were dealing with single-digit temperatures on the Fahrenheit scale. This is the only day in many midwest cities’ weather bureau jurisdictions where the record highs and lows were broken for the same day. Some cities experienced tornadoes on Saturday and a blizzard on Sunday.
- 11-11-1911 Roberto Matta was born, one of Chile’s best-known painters and a seminal figure in 20th century abstract expressionist and surrealist art.
